Each to their own. But Cheap Chinese capacitors? You would expect better.

The through-holes were a cheap Chinese brand, but the SMD's certainly looked like Panasonic caps. I've been using them for years and they looked like the Panasonic brand.
As for that muck on the motherboard, that was flux, not leaking capacitors. As others have said, they're not likely to leak and certainly DO NOT all leak at once like that. The original Retro Passion job was very sloppy with flux sloshed everywhere and not being cleaned up. I like Dr. Chris and his videos, but I think he got it wrong on that occasion.

Anyway, I think you should just move on from your campaign against Retro Passion.

Understand what your saying. I would never in a million years ever deal with Retro Passion either. But I also know that if I invested time and energy trying to expose them, I'd end up with stomach ulcers. I'd rather just completely forget they exist, move on and do things I enjoy that bring me peace of mind. Just my 2 cents.  :)
