Need advice on AT power supply on Amiga.
« on: August 08, 2019, 07:53:56 PM »
Hi all.
I am doing a project, and I need to power a 500-Board with an AT power supply. And I am a bit in the dark, on how to wire it up correctly in order not to mess things up.

The AT PSU have these two P-Connectors that I wish to use for giving the Amiga power. Can they be used, for giving power to the board. (I know that I need to change the plugs that are on them right now for it to work) And if I can use them, do I need to solder all the wires of same colours together in order not to overload something inside the AT-PSU?

http://ianstedman.co.uk/Amiga/amiga_hacks/Amiga_Power_supplies/amiga_power_supplies.html#ATXPSUsome great info on power supplies for our miggies.

Yes.... I have read that page, yet I am still after some advice, if it is best to bundle all the wires according to their colours. Or I can go by with one of each colour, that are found on the P7 and P8 plugs. What about shielding, the page tells that it is not useable, yet if I use it for something, then what to use it for?

Basically, are there something that is good to take in account wich is not explained on that page? What exactly have people here done through the years?
