You've chosen a good combo for your re-entry into the Amiga way of life. I've been using an A1200 030 as my main computer since the mid nineties (before that it was my A500) and absolutely love it. It's amazing how much support there still is for these computers, mainly thanks to the operating system which was so far ahead of its time it's still usable today. Many modern applications are available and still being developed, and there will be some nice games coming out over the next year and beyond too.
