I arranged my current setup on a CF card using WinUAE on the PC with a USB card reader. I had some problems with setting things at first, but I don't remember them exctly... Just remember that you have to press ENTER after you've filled in a value in HDToolbox to actually make the change
. Check out eab.abime.net, I think they have some decent tutorials and tips on this stuff.
And now I have a WinUAE setup so I can use the "same" install in WinUAE and install all the programs I need quickly from windows folders. Transferring all the stuff from a PC to the Amiga can be pretty boring before you've set up some decent means of communication.
