Has anyone even heard from the guys at hyperion as of lately? I have not seen any posts from them since OS4 went final.

o build a Amiga using a custom chipset as before woud be too expensive to produce thesedays.

You could use hardware emulation in a chip similar to the minimig and this will give you much better emulation than what is possible through software and it should still be pretty affordable.. A pc running a software emulator will just not do the job in my opinion and i clearly notice the difference between lets say winuae and the real thing.

Using a PC with an Amiga complient FDD controler would be much cheaper. Software emulation would allow the use of Old Amiga Code Software while New developers could create software for the New Amiga Arcitecture.

Why on earth would we need that? A custom floppy controller would not be any cheaper to produce than the custom chipset in a chip and what is the point considering that you can just load the adf image from your hd or even dvdrom? New pcs does not even come with a floppy drive these days..
