how much free chip ram do you have after WB has fully booted?
It can be something as simple as you running WB with too many colours or something, which use up alot of ram.

That is very little ram left! I have nearly 2 megs free after a normal WB boot, so something is clearly wrong somewhere. What do you get if you boot from the clean WB floppy instead of booting it from the HD? I do however have a small amount of fast ram, but still.. I think you should have atleast 1.5meg left unless you use hires and loads of colours.
