If you want to use a standard vga/svga monitor with anything besides WB and software running under Workbench, then you will need to get something called a flicker fixer. Normal pc monitors are not able display the frequensies required by the amiga, unless you get a flicker fixed that doubles the refresh rate. You can get one from here:
