1. I have debian linux on all my x86 systems, except this old laptop that runs WinXP at this moment..
2. I use it because it is the best overall OS with updated software on the x86 platform. I really liked BeOS, but is not much of an alternative since it does not have much software or updated drivers these days..
3. I am not considering switching for now, but who knows what might happen in the future..
