I had the same problem before. It was a JST startup as well. My solution, If you've downloaded already the WHDLoad32.lha and dearchived it, I'm sure the 'WHDload' file(executable) is already in your c: by then. After which, go to the drawer 'Airball' and look for the icon and select it by clicking it once only, then right-click and select info. Check the 'default tool' I assume it would be 'JST'. Change it to 'C:WHDLoad'. Then save it.
After saving, you're now ready to doubl-click it. Hope that helps.
Err... I also forgot to mension 'Tools' window, make sure the contents would be:
SLAVE=AIRBALL.Slave
