Overclock A3000 16Mhz to 25Mhz
« on: December 20, 2017, 12:34:29 AM »
I've read a bunch about people successfully overclocking 16Mhz A3000 to 25Mhz and I want to give it a try. What I don't know is what the exact type of oscillator is used in the A3000. I know I need 50Mhz one but I'm not sure what pinning I need.

Can anyone point me to a compatible one?

Anyone who has done this change did you socket the oscillator?

Thanks.

I have a A3640. I want to do this to get around the issue of the 16Mhz not working well with ZII boards as I am trying to run AMIX with an A2410. Only option is to up to 25Mhz to avoid the bug as AMIX won't run on the A3640.

Thanks much! I regret selling my 25Mhz A3000 years ago. When I purchased this one, it came with an A3640, so I never thought about the motherboard itself. I'd love to see pictures of the heatsink and fans you are using as well.

Thanks for the picture. Did you use a normal DIL14 socket or one with longer legs?
