Volvos don't break, so I've heard, they are the cars equivalent to a tank.
A lot of flatscreen TV's and monitors tend to have problems with capacitors, the manufacturers purposely use cheap capacitors and place them where they are stressed the most.
Changing them when they fail is a cheap and simple operation.
You are 100% spot on. Here I have a monitor and they have the capacitors not far away from the heatsink. Every few 16 months or so I have to have the capacitors changed otherwise the monitor just won't start.
