**IMPORTANT NOTES**

when doing *any* 040 to 060 upgrades with a socket, its a good idea to fit a clean 040 ( not a desoldered one ) back into the socket.

this comfirms the board is in the same state & is working.

if all ok,then you proceed to the next stage. 68060,firmware,jumpers ect.

       ************************************************

**at your own risk** you may try this.

if you dont have a spare 040.

insert the old 040 ( desoldered ) CPU into a spare socket.
then insert the *socket/CPU* into the socket on the board itself and see if it boots.

**do not** insert a desolder CPU back into the main socket on the board,as this may lead to problems when a new CPU is fitted.

mask 71e41j can be overclocked over 66mhz it all depends on the other controllers/microchips around it.
