Ls-120
« on: July 02, 2013, 08:38:55 PM »
Hi every one, been  along long time but any way.....................
I am getting my AMiga1200 out of its box and will use it yet again...............
But I went to a table top sale (boot sale) and got myself 2 fully working LS-120 floppy drive units. Now I belive they can be put inside the Amiga 1200 by of course taking out the original 880K floppy drive unit. QUESTIONS:-

1:- Has an yone used one of these?
2:- If so good yes/no?
3:- Will I need drivers for Devs draw? (I think there are but not sure)
4:- I have 2 so 1 will be put into my PC tower other inside my Amiga 1200 for data transfere.
5:- If I do the above then will the data tranfere be with no problems or will there be some sort of incompatability issue?

6:- there is no 6

TIA,

Mike.

SO ok, here is what I want to do with iy...............
1 LS-120 in my Amiga 1200, 1 LS-120 in my PC tower reason if I cant get my Amiga on the Internet then download data from Aminet from PC onto  LS-120 using a LS-120 data disk then onto my Amiga LS-120 drive unit.  What I need to know is can I use the same LS-120 data disk on both machines using both LS-120 units? OR will it be ONLY a 1.44 floppy disk for both?  TIA,

Mike.

Well I used the LS-120 floppy drive, on a spare IDE on my IDE`97 4 way IDE board and it was seen by the Amiga as DF7 and I formated a 1.44 disk and then a LS-120 floppy disk with no problems what so ever. Rebooted my Amiga re-inserted both floppy disks (one at a time of course) LOL to find they both kept the data I put on and no problems in any way. All I goto do now is use the other LS-120 drive on my PC to see how it all goes.
More later........................
