AmiKit Printer?
« on: December 08, 2005, 01:34:19 PM »
Hi all, I am running AmiKit V1.1 on an Athlone 2000+XP via WinXP Pro, with 512DDR ram, I have my setting as CPU 040 and the printer is set to use my Lexmark X1180 printer/scanner.
However when I use GoldEd or any other Editor through AMikit, I send to the printer and my Lexmark goes through the usual routines by saying"Printer ready" I hear the head move but it does nothing?

I have used all sorts of printers in my Printers folder from generic to most types and still the same.

Has any one got this problem or am I doing something wrong here.

TIA,

Mike.

Yes I it seems the Lexmark is like that, never mind I have hookedf up a Citizen Swift 240C printer to the Parallel port and tha works fine.
So at least the print out is not to bad considering its a DMP compared to the Lexmark.

Yes it seems so,
AS I say I am using the Citizen Swift240 and that works fine via the Paralell port.
There isnt any driver for the Amiga as far as the Lexmark is concerned.
I have a newish Epson 600 type printer in the loft all wrapped up, I shall get that down and try that via the paralell port and see what luck I shall have.

Having said all this, I have used the generic printer in the Devs/Printers folder and that works just as well for the Citizen printer
I have of course got the correct drivers in Windows XP pro for the Citizen Swift as long as you have the correct drivers for the printers through Windows XP then the AMiKit printer part of it should work.
Its probably one of those things the Lexmark is for some reason not wanting to co-operate.
But the Lexmark is far to good to let go as its a Printer and scanner at the same time X1180.I cant complain to much as for a DMP the Citizen is not to bad a printer for the AmiKit.
