I'm assuming you're using the GVP Impact Series II 2/4000-HC+8 that usually comes in A2000HD systems... I use this board in both my A2000 and A4000.
Install the latest versions of the GVP A4008 SCSI drivers (found
here) and AmiCDFS (found
here). Edit the CD0 that comes with AmiCDFS to reflect the use of GVPSCSI.device and the device number (SCSI ID) of the drive. And of course, as with any SCSI setup, make sure your device chain is terminated
