Re: maybe new boards

I still think it's fully possible to build an AT/ATX A1200 compatable board...

Start with a 68060 cpu. Decode the logic from the original chipset and write it to PLDs. Leave out unnecessary parts (such as the original AGA video, sound and PCMCIA). Add PCI support, and use RTG exclusively. Change out the CIA chips for modern UARTs. Use the Catweasel chip as a floppy controller, so you can use a regular PC floppy drive and still use Amiga floppies. Stuff like that...

Hell, most of the work has been done already by Elbox, IC, and others.

Someday I hope to build this board myself.  :-D

A4000D, A3640 OC-36.3MHz, custom tower, Mediator A4000D. Diamond Banshee 16M, Indivision AGA 4000, GVP HC+8.

Mac Mini 1.5GHz, that might run MorphOS someday, when the fools who own it come to the realization that 30 minutes just isn\'t enough time to play with it enough to decide whether or not you like it enough to cough up $200.

 - Someone please design SOME kind of DIY accelerator for the A4000. :D -

Hmm, perhaps I'll build the laptop board instead... Just because no one else has even attempted it!

Why not a pda/small embedded board instead :-)

One word... POWER! I'd be doing well just to find compatable chips with low enough draw for a laptop.

I've been thinking about it and I think the best solution would be to build a replacement board for a common "old" laptop... Like an old Thinkpad or something. Much better than trying to reinvent the wheel  :-D
