Good call on testing it with software first Kolla. I couldn't log in to comment further earlier (my email account was banjaxed yesterday).

Downloaded and installed. Added lines to S-s. Still freezes.

Hmmm... maybe somebody already did the fix and it's gone bad?
Check around pin 5 of Gayle, should be a capacitor or resistor pulling it the right way - might have got detached. There's any number of places where the other end can connect to, but pin 5 is the Gayle pin that needs a tweak.

If you got spare A1200s that work with that network card, then obviously it's that particular A1200 that has the issue.
