Df0 ???
« on: November 05, 2017, 04:35:06 PM »
On my 4000. Switched three drives, even Gotek (which worked earlier)
Different cables also tried.

What gives, bad chips, capacitors or just unlucky?

I am about to give up. There is something more going on with mine. I know get it recapped.

Fried one drive, (burned two resistors), probably in my haste putting power cable on wrong, not sure.
I have tried three  drives and a Gotek and none work. The Gotek used to, now nothing.

Is this some how related? Even after installing the new psu if I unplug and replug or move cables around the system refuses to boot without a long rest powered down. This has been going on since I got the 4000. A short?

I have done my fair of stupid impetuous mistakes but I have been really diligent in making sure the cables are lined up correctly and on pin 1.
The power wrong is only an assumption because of the baked floppy board. Possible when you do something 50 times in every configuration in a short time.

The computer not booting for a while perplexes me. It was doing that when I got it.
Unhook everything, put it away for a week, and doesn't either power up right away (one time) or normally won't boot until a time passes.

Sorcery I tell you.
