The correct replacement external lithium battery is available from many electronics parts distributors such as Farnell and Radio Spares.  Perhaps decent computer stores might sell them too, but I'm not sure if there's any good computer stores anymore.  Google T1AA/C and you might find a few more options.

Howdy, been a bit busy lately working 4 jobs at once, plus been away working on the Army's radio communications network.  Not every day you get a ride to work in a tank.
There's been a big rush of Amiga repairs coming in recently too.  I wasn't sure how posting on the new A.org would react with IBrowse, but it's working OK.

I'm usually not too far away if you ever have any hardware questions.

Regarding the A4000T battery thing, you can also use a couple of 1.5V alkaline cells in series, the RTC will work OK on 3V.  You can buy plastic holders for them or you can get special cells with solder tabs on them.  Usually not a good idea to solder directly to the cell terminals unless you know what you're doing.  The two pins you need are marked in silkscreen on the A4000T main board beside the external battery connector.  It's tidier to find a 2.54mm pitch pin header socket as opposed to joining directly to the pins on the main board.
