Before you dance with joy. STOP. Remove that battery. Solder a wire to each side of the remaining metal strips. Run these leads along the front inside bottom edge and come up into the oval cutout at the front of the left floppy bay. Solder the remaining leads to the battery, and then put this new battery in a plastic medicine bottle. This prevents future problems.

PS> the original battery was soldered THRU the multilayered A3000 motherboard, from the underside of the board. Your lucky to haved "ripped it out". I do the job by wrapping the area in cotton or cloth batting soaked in alcohol, and then dremel cutting the battery away, leaving the entire metal "ears" upright. The wet batting keeps the metal dust from the motherboard.
