I think it's too early to say whether the A600 will get thrown back onto the streets again.
These are hard to find and with reason...
*Cheap CompactFlash HD on the IDE header
*Cheap CompactFlash to PCMCIA to transfer files from a PC
*Inexpensive and plentiful accelerator
*ECS chipset
*Composite output
I've had an A600 before and sold it, kinda kicking myself.
