Fitting an Indivision ECS V2 scandoubler into new A500 case?
« on: January 25, 2019, 02:23:24 PM »
This year the new case from team A1200.net will arrive for the A500. I have supported this campaign and can't wait to get one!

Only problem is fitting the new Indivision ECS V2 scandoubler for the Amiga 500.

This scandoubler comes with a flatcable with an VGA connector. Does anybody know if this VGA connector with flatcable can be replaced  by a flatcable with a DVI connector or HDMI connector?

Not sure if the VGA connector will fit the new A500 case?

I think it will. It is mentioned on the project page and also on the video. The trapdoor will go on the back, near the floppy drive.

Watch here: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/new-compatible-case-for-amiga-500-plus#/ around the 3:30 mark

I am also very interested in one of those cases and on this particular trapdoor since I also own an Indivision ECS (V1). I could not support the campaign from the beginning, but I hope I'll be able to buy one later. Let us know how the Indi ECS VGA port fits on the new trapdoor :)

I really hope the VGA connector will fit the back trapdoor. I asked the A1200 team about this, but I am a bit confused by there answer:

Will the flatcable with the VGA connector fit into this case? Is the case already prepared for such a connector?
Yes and no.
Yes you can use the rear trapdoor that has a VGA out opening.

No because the trapdoor is just a pass-through. It is not meant for the VGA connector to be screwed and mounted onto.

Can't make any sense of it  ???

When I have received the new case and fitted with the mainboard and scandoubler it will post some pictures on this forum.
