Don't know, you should have a look on your motherboard, there is a jumper (J350) that is used to select the Tick clock source. In one position (pins 1 and 2 shorted) it uses the Tick signal generated by the power supply, in the other setting (pins 2 and 3 shorted) it uses the VBlank signal as Tick source.
It is save to use VBlank instead of the Tick signal as long as you don't want to use video hardware like a Genlock, as these devices need a Tick signal independent of the VBalnk signal.
