I have a linux box running ubuntu 10.10 as my "main" computer for playing a few games and general internet crap.

I've gone with kubuntu 10.04LTS for my laptop - it offered superior support for the graphics chip over Elive 2.0.

Tbh given how effective it is, I doubt I'll be moving OS again until this system gets retired.

Its nice to have an OS that "just works" again. I didn't realise how much I'd missed not having to putz about with config files etc to get everything to play nicely. I mean sure there is some fun to be had in doing that and knowing how to but, just to have it work from the start... Yeah, like I said: nice.

I think I spend as much time on my amiga, mostly playing old games. Still working on getting it set up so I can try and go "amiga only" for a while, as an experiment.

Tbh I suspect that next "Amiga" I run will likely be via UAE either on this system or if I get one of those gp2x handheld games consoles.

yeah, I have no hate on for KDE. Its cool and super configurable, I just got used to Gnome and how it does things

Tbh the reason I went with kde over gnome was that it was an easier transition for me over going from Enlightenment. I've used gnome in the past, it's ok.
