IIRC for some versions of the 030, there was literally no point in adding a heatsink due to the way the package was setup.
Either way at 40Mhz there really oughtn't to be the need for a heatsink at all on an 030.
The GVPs though were the absolute bomb. I think that even the Phase 5 cards struggled to beat them and only really did so on the basis that the GVPs used non standard (read: hugely pricey) simms.
GVP's SCSI solution (--edit-- for the A1200) though was second to none.
