Yes i know its like another world this sense of "common wealth" and yes i cant understand it, but for me is very curious be foreing in something with english and australians involved (just speaking in distances).
The long and short of it is that the commonwealth was set up as a means to maintain indirect influence (lol) but also to help facilitate trade and maintain good relations.
Cricket... It's a game from a bygone era that still maintains popularity for reasons unknown. It is a fun game in of itself and sport on the whole tends to promote good relations, especially when they (often) hand us back our backsides on a plate
