I managed to win a bid for an A4000D/VT system with a bunch of goodies through ebay a week ago. So far one of the 4 boxes has been lost in transit and the monitor arrived dead...

I figured the battery would need to be replaced in the A4000, which it does, but the shipping snafu is a bummer...

oh yeah, total around $300.

Warp'40Engine from another auction is on it's way.

T3000, I also got a deal on eBay a while ago.  Two A4000/040 VT4000 systems, 1 A2000/030 VT setup, and two Amiga monitors.  All worked but needed batts replaced!  All for $300.

Quick! Call the cops! I think this guy ripped someone off!   :-D

That's a hell of a deal there TjLaZer!

Of course just after getting the system delivered I saw two Amiga Technologies tower 4000s go for $500 and less. Oh well...

Here's the condition of my A4000 after the battery change and addition of a CDrom. Waiting to install the Warp'40Engine when it arrives.

Does your A4000 work fine with the new batt?

Yeah. Seems to be. Solder job was easy. Looked to be some minor damage from the corrosion, but it cleaned up nicely. As soon as I can find the clear nail polish, to cover the traces where the damage occured, I'll put the MB back into the chassis.

I also started a fresh OS3.0 install on a 1.4 gig IDE hd that was removed from the A3000T PAR chain, instead of the 428mg originally installed. Thought I had a set of 3.1 ROMS, but I assume the roms for a 3000 aren't compatable in a 4000.  ...and I don't have a 3.1 rom image to kick up to...
