Had to replace the caps on my A1200. Sound wasn't what use to be and I would get the occasional crash.
Since the caps were done it's like a brand new machine, the sound from Paula is 100% louder clearer.
All eletronics have their day. I bought a DVD player when the first came out $1200 at the time from memory, still going strong... must be over 10 years old. Although it sits in my parents garage now as I hardly use discs these days.
At work we have some 10 year old PC's that are finally showing cap problems.
One piece of equipment that doesnt last like it use to are washing machines.... they tend to fall apart or fail after 3 odd years.
Besides they don't want things to last, they want to sell you a new one ;-)
