PAL Amigas with US (110v) PSU...
« on: August 16, 2014, 10:52:35 PM »
I am selling a few Amigas in pieces and want to get an A600 or A1200, expand it somewhat, and run with that.

I am in the states.

WHDLoad will be the source of most of my program launches, but anything I want to boot off floppy (or a floppy emulator) is going to be written for PAL. This time around I don't want the hassle of having to run Degrader first to get the system to PAL timing before booting the floppy.

If I buy a Euro / PAL Amiga 600 or 1200 and use a US (110v) PSU, I understand that this will work. What I am wondering, is will the Amiga retain system PAL timing even with the 60Hz PSU? I will be using it with a 1084S that I know handles 50Hz fine, and an Indivision.

...or is it trivial to wire an NTSC Amiga 600 or 1200 to run in PAL by default?

Thanks.
