I want to remove the battery of my Apollo 1240. It has not leaked or anything but since the battery no longer works i dont see the point of risking that it might eventually leak and ruin the accelerator.

I have removed batteries from Amiga 500 plus's and an A4000D and some expansions in the past by gently moving them from side to side till they come out.

Not the case in the Apollo since it seems to use the more modern type of batteries.

Anyway, has anyone ever removed or replaced the battery and can offer me some tips?

is that a coin type of battery? if so, those don't leak. even if they could, given their size, I doubt it would matter.

I think you'd need to de-solder it for replacing, unfortunately. better leave it if you're not skilled enough.
