I dont' like it either, it really looks ugly. wonder whats the temperature inside BTW.
 
@bhoggett  underspecced?? I don't think so, most Amigas were high spec machines at the time they came out.

you are wrong about serial and parallel, those things are used in sooo many devices.

for an example an hightech "sweeper" (osciloscope) made by Acterna costs some 10000$ or more and no it has no USB but improved version of RS232! (RS484 or similar, I forgot).
I've also seen many scanners in shops using RS232..
