Old/New Amiga User
« on: April 13, 2004, 02:25:27 PM »
Although I have been a member of this board for a while, I don't think I ever introduced myself.

I've been an Amiga user since about 92 when I got an A500, moved up to an A2000 and eventually an A1200 which I had to sell in 2000 to buy a PC to go to University.

I've finished Uni now and am getting back into the Amiga and will be buying an AmigaOne when OS4 is out.

On a side note I work in Intellectual Property here in Australia and have ties to major US and European Patent Attorney firms, so if anyone has any questions about Amiga IP I could probably find the answers.

So what can you tell us about the Amiga IP?

Briefly I can tell you that they have about 70 patents (probably more, but I only did a quick search). About 65% are from Amiga Dev LLC from around 99 - 01 and the rest are from Commodore Amiga Inc from 85 - 93.

There is also one for a game controller from Amiga Corp in 84. Most of the ones from Amiga Dev are for TV computing such as internet on the TV etc and also transparent GUI elements. The Commodore Amiga ones are more related to how computers work and various procedures.

Here is an example of an Amiga Dev LLC:

Commodore Amiga Inc:
