Get that battery out of there NOW before it does more damage. Simplest way is to rock it back and forth untill the legs crack and break. If you have a good soldering iron, use it with a bit of fresh solder to flow the legs and pull them out while the solder is still molten, one side at a time.

Crud from the battery damages the legs and sockets of the 68000 CPU. You will need to clean the 68000 pins and possibly replace the 68000 socket, as I have had to do many times before.
