I and a friend got similar scam contacts
from ebay and autotrader web autions.
I didn't bother to play. I just responded....
"bid and win, items ship when payment's recieved and confirmed"
Of course there were no further emails.

Great story about the p-p-p-powerbook. That was a laugh.
But I wonder what happened to Jeff, I hope he's ok.
Maybe the scammer sent some bad guys to his address.
