In a nut shell, Amiga are only supporting those, who put there money where there mouth is, and actually went out and bought a ppc amiga, or ppc expansion for there a1200/a4000`s.
Although classic os is not dead, they have to move forward at some point.
Changing from 68000 to ppc was a big jump and risk to take. Then through all that advancment, why would they throw all that away in one passing swop of os 4.0 to os5.0 to take on xxx86.
it would piss off a lot of users and investiors,
aaah to live once more with the sane.
