its a well known fact that apple are not making MacOSX 64bit untill people have the hardware. Its been reported around various places and i'd bet Apple themselfs has said this themselfs.
They're not releasing a 64bit OS untill everyone has hardware.
Wonder if this has anything to do with, selling them the new Panther and then charging customers extra for the 64bit version!!!!
