Amiga 2024 monitor
« on: November 23, 2003, 04:55:46 AM »
Does anybody out there actually HAVE the A2024 monitor?
I farted around with one in an Amiga shop eowns ago, nice (4 col.) pic
And, just like EVERYBODY else (c'mon admit it!!) I choose the A2024 monitor in prefs/screenmodes, just to see! Took a while to get the mouse on the right plane to get out!!

Just curious!! :-?

WHAT!?
Sounds like you cheated and hit USE instead of the braver SAVE button on the SCREENMODE window!!!
Cheater.............
Good thing I tried it on a mil-spec industrial Amiga Professional computer!!!
A lesser machine, like an A500, probibly couldn't handle it!!

I was really just looking for memories/reflections, etc. of the A2024 monitor! It had (if I remember correctly) 800X600 resolution and a rock solid picture.
anyone have one and still use it?
for sale or trade?

really??
I know about the slow phospher screen. If memory serves correct, it could only refresh at 10-15Khz!
It was also notorously slow while dragging screens down, playing CDXL or any other processor intensive tasks!
It does have advantages though- I have my CD32 hooked up to a PSONE monitor and it has no flicker whatsoever!

Weird, but I have an older A2000 (Mil-spec no less!) with an '040 in it that would probibly scream on that monitor. All I use it for is Lightrave (and Lightwave 3D), word processing, and my tax info.

It wouldn't push it to bad.

They were good, weird BIG monitors!!!

You didn't read that Atari-thread did you ? ;-)

Which Atari thread might that be?
Is there a thread out here about Atari's big-ass monochrome monitor? I can't remember the model number.....

BTW.....
Here's the ONLY photo I could find of one:
http://www.amiga-hardware.com/a2024.html
It also explaines quite a bit about the monitor.

Yeah- I want one!  :-)

Sounds fair!!
you didn't catch the British Saskatchalbertatoba joke???
goto www.deadtrolls.com
It's a Three Dead Trolls in a Baggy song about 4 provinces seceding (sic!) from Canada and formaing a NEW country called "British Saskatchalbertatoba"

I've learned SO much about Canada from them, believe it or not...

VERY funny!
I'll keep my good eye out on e-bay looking for the monitor!
