Giving life to stock Amiga 2000
« on: November 10, 2003, 05:01:12 AM »
Greetings, all. First post here.

I've held on to my stock Amiga 2000 that I'd like to now get out of the box and hook up again.   I'd like to hook up all of my old software and play those old games.  What can I do to breath new life into it?

I picked up an AdSCSI 2000 card and tried to install it but the power light on the Amiga just flashed. Is there something I need to do first? Or might the card just be bad?

I still have Workbench 1.3 and the original 1 MB of RAM so I know I need some updating.

What kind of RAM can I put in there?

Thanks, everyone. Here's to looking forward to getting this machine up and running!

Peace!
Sebes

Ah, the joys of upgrading! Thanks very much for the information. I guess I'll be sifting through ebay looking for some good deals on stuff.

I pulled it out of storage last night and tried a couple of games. (Test Drive, Road Warrior, Off-Road Challenge). They worked! And the machine fired right up. (I'll check the batter tonight) However, about 30 minutes after using it, the video just went out. I plugged into the RCA mono video out and it worked, so I'm wondering what happened. I'll play with it later. :(  Turns out I have Workbench 2.0 but I'm sure that's not a huge leap over WB 1.3 I've done no upgrading on this box since I bought it back in 1986(?).

Peace!
