Yes I am right now using Linux and a program called Sound Converter from MP3 to16 bit WAV as an experiment, so I was on the right lines.
But thank you for your advice, its been a heck of a long time since I done any kind of sound file converting on my Amiga.
Mike.
You are using the wrong format. 16-bit wav wastes all the cpu power because all the numbers are stored backwards.
Convert to an Amiga IFF format: .16sv for 16-bit sound or .8svx for 8-bit.
The 16-bit version will take some small cpu power to play on Paula. The 8-bit version will take no cpu power at all. Paula will do all the work herself.
Both formats are much faster than .wav.
