The HD has two identical partitions (both have the same files e.g., System, Devs, Storage, Expansion, etc.). How can I tell which partition is the boot partition? Should I delete the existing drawers from the non-boot partition? Can I safely rename the non-boot partition?
I don't think they are identical.
Probably one partition is for full 100% AmigaOS compatiblity. No gfx card hackpatched into the system.
And the other partition is for using your gfx card. This will break Deluxe Paint and many other law-abiding AmigaOS programs.
This multiple bootable partitions thing is just what Amiga users usually do. Though sometimes they have 2 different boot partitions for slightly different reasons. You can have as many bootable partitions as you want.
You should try booting off the other partition to see if you notice anything different. It might be obvious... or it might be all "under the hood". I donno how he had it setup.
Hold both mousebuttons down while turning on the power. You will get to the secret bootup menu
