Circa 1989 a girl, possibly evil, gave me a free power strip thingy with 5 or 6 outlets in it. It was constructed of heavy metal. It seemed ok. So I plugged in my A2000 and 1084S monitor and other things. Everything seemed to work fine. I used that machine all day every day for database work plus games.
One day I had to reach behind the computer for some reason.
I placed my hand on the A2000 case while leaning heavily.
I was horribly shocked when 120V of 60hz AC current began flowing through my hand and arm. :BananaElectrocution:
Somehow the metal case of my A2000 was carrying current.
Yet the A2000 continued to work perfectly. It didn't crash or even reset. I would have expected it to have been fried.
How is it possible that AC current was flowing through the A2000 case?
I always just assumed it was that the power strip had been rigged to murder my Amiga and/or myself.
But perhaps it was supernatural?
