Newbie needs basic install help on a Blizzard PPC setup
« on: November 06, 2003, 11:57:12 AM »
Hi everyone,

After frying one 1200 using some dodgy instructions on wiring a PC supply to an Amiga, fished from the dejanews, I now have a working 1200 with a Blizzard PPC 603/040 card, Bvision Vid card and 64 megs of RAM. I went out and bought a set of 3.1 ROMS and a copy of OS 9 on CD. I have a buffered IDE inteface with a 4GB hard disk and a slaved IDE CD ROM.  I can boot up with a floppy copy of Workbench 3 but I'm completely stumped as to how to proceed. 1991 would be the last time I messed with Amigas and hard drives, and I can't remember what/how to set up partitions.

1. Could a blizzard owner recommend an install sequence to get me to a working OS 3.9 with PPC support?

2. I don't have the VGA cable for the Bvision add on card and would dearly like the pinout to knock one up of my own :)

Thanks for any help.

Stu

Hum, this like all computing projects past and present is turning out to be more difficult than I'd first anticipated :)
I have a set of Workbench 3.0 disks, but there doesn't appear to be an installer disk. On boot up from the floppy, there are no IDE devices present. The CD insert instructions have a strking resemblance to Commodore manuals I've read in the past - brief and hard to follow.  Can I get an installer as an ADF somewhere?

Cheers,
Stu
