Arghhhhh!!!!

Okay, so I decide to put my iPod on automatic update after filtering the crap out of my iTunes library and emptying my iPod.

I have around 3,500 songs... and an eMac with slow 1.1 USB. It had taken from 2.15 in the afternoon to quarter to 8 that evening for it to get near to being finished, then something really awful happened.
Everything goes dull on screen and there is a box saying "You need to restart your computer". Kernel Panic! *darn*! Just as my iPod is still being updated. I have no choice but to hold down the power button. I power up my iPod... and there is what 15 songs on there? I now have to start all over again!

Annoying huh?

Any ideas what might have caused this to happen in the first place? Don't really want it to happen again!

This has only ever happened to me once in the year that I had my iBook, and never (so far) with my MacBook. The time it happened with my iBook I didn't bother attempting to fix it, and it never happened again :-)

It rarely happens to me either, I can safely say it is under 10 times since I got my Mac in 2003 that I have experienced a Kernel Panic

Silly me forgot to grab the error code, d'oh! But I shall view the console log and research.
