Introduction.

Ha nice, the first one here  to post a message. :-P

I'm living in the netherlands, 27 years old.
My Amiga history goes back till 1990-1991 or something.

First one was an Amiga500, sold it to buy an A1200.
Towered that one, added a MBX1230@33mhz. And 8 mb of fast ram.
Sold that one in around '95 or '96, to buy an A4000.
My prettiest Amiga ever.
Equiped with a Warpengine 4040, and lots of RAM.
Also bought a CV64 when it came out.

Shamefully, I sold it in 97 or 98.
Needed the cash (I keep telling myself), and switched to Wintel.
Used to code in 680x0 ASM (asm1), AMOS and C.

A few months ago,  I was able to obtain two A4000's (both 030@25mhz). They were used for the local TV-station to broadcast SCALA. (dongles came with it
 :-D ).
I've combined them both to 1 nice & clean machine.
Bought a CV64 on ebay, and going to equip it with a X-surf2 and KS3.1
Scandoubler is on its way, so I can ditch de M1438 monitor.

Thanks for all the welcomes! Feeling a lot more at home.
I followed the amiga since the time I said goodbye to it from time to time. More active now I own 2 of them again.

Been waiting for a chance to pick a classic amiga for quite some time.

Followed the story of the Boxer, but lost sight of it.
I'm willing to go to the AmigaOS4/PPC era.
I even am thinking about getting a Cyberstorm 060/PPC. But it shouldn't cost too much. (it's just for fun)

Lots of exiting amiga-revival things I've read have vanished in the end.
The A1/OS4 combo looks very promising.
Imho the A1 is priced too high. (there have been other threads about it...)
When it's cut in half,  and doubled in Speed, it's going to be VERY interesting.
But then there is the part of software.
It's nice cloanto is making a new PPaint, but there's more to computing than that.
What about EA and the likes.
So for now, just the retro stuff and good old time sake.

Well, we all know software makes or brakes a machine.
The c64 went sky high when there was a lot of software available, happened with the amiga and the pc.
Only when software for os4 is widely available (ie dixons or like that) the hw will sell.
When I want Amiga stuff, I have to go to Rotterdam ( approx 1 hr drive) or Germany (2 hrs drive)

But I'm going to enjoy the amiga as it is right now! Maybe even going to code once again in 680x0 asm.
Hopefully the xsurf will arrive this week, then I don't have to transfer stuff by floppy to it.
