There is always the Vintage Computer Festival East where you would meet fellow Commodore and Amiga users exhibiting their computers. The next VCF East is April 17-19, 2015 at the InfoAge Science Center in Wall, New Jersey. See

Robert,
I was going to suggest that and you beat me to it

. Dave Haynie spoke there last year, and there is a very large Commodore/Amiga presence and numerous exhibits. There are a number of ex-Commodore engineers still in the area, and they do get them to speak and show off cool things like the Commodore LCD and PET hard drives.
One of my friends exhibited there with a Pegasos II running Debian 6 years ago, and there were a lot of people who knew what that was, too. The fact that it was running an emulated DDial system made it even cooler. That was also the year an ex-Commodore shareholder brought in a 35mm slide deck showing a number of unreleased prototype Amiga cases.
Evan Koblentz and MARCH do a great job with this event. I was considering holding a class there on firewalls and securing retro devices on home networks, but I have another engagement to prep for, unfortunately. I'll have something for VCF XI.
