SFS problem and SFS vs PFS info wanted.
« on: April 05, 2004, 05:25:43 PM »
Hello!

I have a problem with the SFS filesystem. After I installed it, it worked great. After some time I got this error message:

======================================================
Smart FileSystem request
======================================================
Volume Program (DH1: scsi.device, unit 0)

There was an error while accessing this volume:

Not enough sectors found. The disk is in an unreadable format.

errorcode = 21
io_Command = 49153
io_Offset = 1696600064
io_Length = 28672
io_Actual = 0
======================================================

When I got this I backed up all my data and then formatted the disk and did the same on my second harddrive. But now I'm having the same error message again. How do I get rid off this error? Are PFS better than SFS? Should I try PFS instead?

/Jörgen

I don't remember each step exactly that I did when I installed it, so I would appreciate it, if you could explain a little bit further what you mean by "fstype" in hdtoolbox?

Thanks!

Hello all!

My config are as follows:

A1200T
Ultra ATA IDE controller from Elbox
SD/FF
Mediator 1200SX from Elbox
Blizzard PPC 603e/210MHz with 060/50MHz from Phase 5
Voodoo 4 4500 graphics card
Network 10/100 card
Terratec 512i soundcard
Hypercom 3+
1 4GB drive
1 10GB drive
1 CD/RW drive

And yes, I have the same error on both harddrives. I will try to remove the harddrives and insert a another one. I don't have a spare IDE cable so I can't switch that one. If the new harddrive don't work either, then it must be the IDE-cable I suspect. Where can I get a very long IDE cable for my Amiga? The ordinary IDE cable you buy for PC computers today, usually have one hole plombed and don't work for the IDE controller from Elbox.
