Need help with input problems in WinUAE
« on: November 15, 2004, 03:40:11 PM »
Hello everybody!

I have encountered a very strange error in WinUAE 0.991.

My right shift(on the keyboard) does not work at all. My left shift do work.

I have also some problems with the keymapping. I usually use the swedish keymap, but the "#" character is not where it should be, [SHIFT] + [3]. When I press the [SHIFT] + [3] I get the "£" character instead. When I press the [LEFT ALT] + [LEFT SHIFT] + [3], then I get the "#" character.

Does anyone know how I can resolve this issue? or how I can make my own keymap?

Hello again!

It all seems fine in windows. I run the OSK and every character is where it is supposed to be. And the RIGHT shift is working in windows, but not in WinUAE 0.991

More advice in this matter is highly appreciated...

Hello again!

Now I have fixed the swedish keymap. But the right shift key does still not work, and yes it works under winxp and yes, I have tried different keyboards and different computers.

I think that it must be some bug in the new version of the winUAE.

Have anyone else seen this on their pc-computers with winUAE installed?

Hello again!

I have found out that if you have checked the keyboard layout B in the "game IO ports" section of winuae, then the cursor keys, right ctrl and right shift will only work as a amiga joystick and not as keys.

So my solution was to check "Windows mouse" on the "Amiga Mouse/joystick port 0" and "*Mouse" on the "Amiga joystick/Mouse port 1", and then it worked.

The keys that winuae reserves for joystick use, will ONLY work as a joystick.

So, now it works! But I wonder if this really is correct. I think that this is annoying. This means that I have to change this setting and reset my WinUAE Amiga every time I want to play a game, and then change the setting again and reset the WinUAE amiga to be able to work on it.

well, we will se what happens...
