new versions of great games
« on: November 13, 2003, 03:44:07 AM »
hi guys,

ive been reading reveiws for CD32 games looking for the latest versions of my fav games. most being put on a cd with no enhancements at all :-(

games like Gunship 2000, Zool 2, Syndicate, and Pirates Gold should have be re written to work especially for the CD32 to take advantage of the faster CPU, AGA and funky CD audio. All the CD32 needed was some decent games to take advantage of its hardware to push it ahead of all the other consoles. bloody timemachine

games i wanna see made taking advantage of the modern computer:

* The Clue,
* Gunship 2000
* Syndicate
* Stunt Car Racer (just add more features and AGA graphics)
* Cruise for a Corpse (quake powered murder mystery)
* Pirates
* Populos type god game (amiga sees Black&White)
* Knights of the Sky
* MoonStone (top crashing) hmm meets Ultima Online?
* Damocles & Frontier (merge both great games)

games that are so old its criminal not to release the rights to these games.

:-S kinda turning into one of those, 'best games' threads. but which games would actually benefit of being updated... lots of games should be left like they are..
friendly faces like these deserve some steroids and a make over

gunship 2000 on cd32 could be so much better. the games engine was a breakthrough when it started but no real development to make it a vast improvement. gunship 2000 has the promise of better polygons n colours n gameplay.
Come on, what about going on missions with a fleet of helicopters in the mist of battle in IRAQ and Afghanistan?

Wing commander is mentioned as the only one that used it in some CD32 FAQ pdf file I found.

Ok we have two then on the list:
- Wing commander
- Microcosm

a nice qoute which just goes to show how the games made for CD32 dont take advantage of just what it can do.
Imagine just what Gunship 2000 could have been. could have been the flagship of the CD32
