I got this chip from Motorolla back around 1990, and put it in my Amiga as a drop-in replacement.  The benchmarking programs I ran reported something like a 3% boost in 3 or 4 of the tests, and no change in all the others.

And as mentioned in the above post, it increases incompatibility by some factor.

I remember my Hurricaine '020 board also gave a tepid perfomrance gain - and that was a 14Mhz '020!  The reason was, the system lacked any RAM that took advantage of the better CPU.

If I recall, all accelerator boards for the Amiga get thier speed increase using either a combination of faster chip/faster RAM, or faster chip/cache RAM.

I'm not competent to change the clock to 10Mhz (14 maybe...)

So yes, you get the "Boost" at 7.14.  :)

Mostly I'm surprised that I called up Motorola one day and said "yes, I'd like to evaluate a 68010 please" and they sent me one!!
