Alexatkin change of continent or buy a european HDTV with all the good input : DVI/HDMI, VGA, Peritel/Scart, S-Vidéo, Component, Composite (PAL/SECAM/NTSC 50/60Hz).
For the Tuner part, you'll need to keep an old VHS or something like that because there is nearly no NTSC compatible tuner ...
Tested quicly an A1200 on a nice 50" Sont Plasma last year throught Peritel/Scart in RGB mode and VGA too  :-D
Keep the Faith !
VG 5000/A1000/500/500+/600/2000/CDTV/1200PPC-GREX/1200PPC -ATEO-BV/4060D/CD32/Aone/Peg 1/Peg2 G4/ various funny machines too  :-) http://www.mo5.com/collection/index.php?pseudo=CLS2086

Hi,
I understood the situation with your familly, i had a similar problem too.
Yes the RGB cable and switch will improve you the vision deeply !
Get the "Péritel"(Scart) switch box.
For the VGA, i suggest you not to buy the to VGA cable, but to find a second hand AmiVGA box.
It's only a box that content similar electronic to the Commodore VGA adapter with a VGA output but also a standard 23 pin Amiga RGB output.
You'll have just to switch via your remote control if it's needed !!!
You might also switch to RGB cable you Xbox and PS/2 too !!!
You'll notice more than a difference, it's like watching the same movie on a VHS (composite) then compare it to the dvd (RGB) release !!

You should check your 23 pin RGB port, it seems like your connector need to be reselled.
Keep the Faith !
